Department of Surgery Welcomes Dr. Faisal Jehan to Surgical Oncology

The Department of Surgery is pleased to welcome Faisal S. Jehan, MD, to the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. Dr. Jehan joins us from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York, where he completed a Clinical Fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Jehan earned his medical degree from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar, Pakistan, before completing a Research Fellowship in the Division of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Burns at the University of Arizona. He went on to complete his General Surgery Residency at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident and was recognized with multiple awards for excellence in research, leadership, and clinical care.
An accomplished surgical oncologist and researcher, Dr. Jehan has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters, with work spanning hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and gastrointestinal malignancies, surgical disparities, frailty, and perioperative outcomes. His research has been recognized nationally with awards from the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons, and the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. Dr. Jehan is actively engaged in surgical education and professional service, serving on national committees for the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. His clinical expertise includes advanced surgical care for complex hepatopancreatobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal cancers, and sarcomas, with a focus on minimally invasive and robotic approaches.
