Surgical Oncology Services

Our surgical oncologists provide advanced patient-centered care including laparoscopic and robotic cancer resections with the goal of performing curative operations with minimal impact on quality of life.

Our surgeons are an integral part of the University of Arizona Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Arizona. We are also accredited by the Commission on Cancer, the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer, and the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer. Lastly, the National Pancreas Foundation named us a clinical and academic Center of Excellence for both pancreatic cancer and pancreatitis. These accreditations are provided only to centers delivering the highest standards of comprehensive care.

Our patients have complete and easy access to the additional services necessary for comprehensive oncologic care, including medical oncology, radiation oncology, and social work. We also offer access to a wide range of clinical trials and new treatments. Weekly Tumor Boards are held to discuss, plan, and coordinate the multidisciplinary care for breast, colorectal, melanoma, sarcoma, pancreas, and hepatobiliary cancer patients. The division is active in raising statewide awareness about cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
