The Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson

Learning that your child needs surgery can be a frightening moment. Our team within the Division of Pediatric Surgery, alongside our partners across Banner - University Medicine and the University of Arizona, are committed to providing your child and your family with the support, care and resources you need to navigate this stressful time as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

Pediatric surgeons are trained in the unique medical and surgical care of children from infancy through adolescence. We also offer prenatal consultations to mothers with fetuses with congenital defects. Some of the conditions treated by pediatric surgeons are similar to those of adult general surgeons, such as appendicitis and hernias. Additionally, much of the care our pediatric surgeons provide is specific to the needs of kids and babies, including the treatment of fetal abnormalities, birth defects, and injuries.

At the University of Arizona, our Division of Pediatric Surgery strives to unite compassionate, comprehensive care with the safest, most effective treatments for your child. Our team takes a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to provide holistic and individualized care to each patient. We believe strongly in family-centered care and a team approach that includes the patient, parents, primary pediatricians, and other appropriate pediatric sub-specialists. Whether routine or rare, our highly skilled pediatric surgeons are dedicated to providing your child with the highest quality of care within a welcoming environment.
