Observership/Shadowing Program
The Clinical Shadowing/Observership Program offers medical students interested in surgery the chance to observe physicians across various surgical specialties. This non-credit-bearing program provides students with an opportunity to shadow for one to two days, gaining valuable insights into the surgical field.
Eligibility
- Current medical student over the age of 18
- US Citizen
International Observers
The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson does not allow international students or physicians to participate in the Shadowing/Observership Program.
To submit your application for consideration:
- Download the application packet (see bottom of page).
- Complete the packet and gather all necessary documentation.
- Application Pages 7 & 8
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Flu Shot Verification (within last 6 months)
- Copy of US Government Issued ID
- Email the completed packet and all requested documentation to shadowing@surgery.arizona.edu
Due to high volume of requests, please allow up to six weeks for processing. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
