Marc Matthews, MD, FACS
Clinical Assistant Professor, Surgery

Matthews is a Burn & Trauma Surgeon at Banner University Medical Center-Tucson. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson. Matthews is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. He has extensive and varied experience educating all levels of junior medical learners. In addition, Matthews is fully engaged in ongoing research, and he has substantial experience presenting, both nationally and internationally. He is well-published with a total of 84 published articles.

Matthews has an extensive history serving his community and country. Since 2015, he has acted as Civilian Medical Consultant to the Arizona National Guard. He has provided support on surgical teams and medical groups for national military deployments/campaigns. Matthews has been recognized both nationally and internationally for these efforts, receiving several honors and awards.
