Bernardo Daniel Campos, MD

B. Daniel Campos, MD, is a clinical associate professor and chief of the Division of Solid Organ/Abdominal Transplantation at the University of Arizona Department of Surgery.

With 20 years of surgical training and clinical experience, Dr. Campos provides extensive expertise in abdominal transplantation. Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Dr. Campos held faculty positions at the University of Puerto Rico, Emory University Hospitals, and Stanford Hospitals where he specialized in pediatric and adult liver and kidney transplants.

Dr. Campos received his Medical Degree from the Escuela de Medicina Ignacio A. Santos in Monterrey, Mexico. Following that, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he was also a transplant clinical research fellow. Before pursuing an Abdominal Organ Transplantation Fellowship at Stanford University & Lucille Packard Hospitals in Palo Alto, California, Dr. Campos practiced as a general surgeon at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar, Colorado.

Dr. Campos is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He has published various peer-reviewed articles on liver transplantation and performed the first pediatric liver transplant in Puerto Rico in 2017, after opening both pediatric liver and kidney transplant programs.
