The Breast Surgery program at The University of Arizona Department of Surgery provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to benign and malignant diseases of the breast. Surgeons specializing in breast surgery collaborate closely with other specialists at the University of Arizona Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center headquartered in Arizona.
The breast surgical oncologists who specialize in treating patients with breast diseases work in a fully integrated multidisciplinary team environment, offering patients a personalized approach to breast cancer that spans every facet of treatment. Our breast surgeons are trained in surgical procedures that work to maximize cosmetic outcomes, including oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and skin- and nipple-sparing mastectomies. In addition, we offer plastic surgery reconstruction techniques that are not performed anywhere else in Southern Arizona.
The multidisciplinary breast team at the University of Arizona Cancer Center and Banner – University Medicine has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), an American College of Surgeons’ program that holds breast centers to the highest standards of care.
