Message from the Program Director

The Division of Urology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine is home to exceptional Urologists endowed with robust clinical skills in urologic oncology, urolithiasis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, reconstructive urology, female urology, voiding dysfunction and pelvic floor disorders.  One of the many objectives of our division is to enhance patient care through increasing our expansive areas of expertise that include nephron sparing robotic laparoscopic surgery, nerve sparing robotic prostatectomy, precision medicine, fusion MRIs, and high frequency ultrasounds.  Our approach is multidisciplinary and our target is to break ground on minimally invasive procedures to cure and treat urological cancers and disorders.

The Urology Residency Program is transformative. Our medical school graduates finish the program as knowledgeable, well trained, and clinically remarkable Urologists.  They benefit from the heavily decorated educational leadership housed by the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and they also benefit from the state of the art facilities and technology made available during their residency. Our program is one of the few in the country with an elective rotation during the 2nd and 3rd year of the Urology residency program. This elective allows protected research time to focus on projects, data collection, analysis and manusrcipt preparation.  We recognize the importance of research to advance the frontiers of Urology.

For over 4 decades, the Urology program at the UA College of Medicine has served the state of Arizona and beyond with technologically advanced urologic care. The latest technology in robotic surgery, bipolar transurethral resection, holmium laser enucleation of the prostate, and fusion MRI targeted biopsy techniques are part of our program.  We seek to advance the diagnostic and therapeutic options for treating the entire spectrum of urologic disease by focusing on the mission to Innovate, to Cultivate, to Heal.

We are pleased to provide you with the education you need not only to serve your patients with the highest quality of care, but for the purpose of training pioneers of the future of urology. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
